The reality of dreams and its types

The reality of dreams and its types

Imam Mazri has said that in the reality of the dream, the religion of the Sunnis is this. Allah Almighty creates certain beliefs in the heart and mind of the one who sleeps, just as Allah Almighty creates certain beliefs in the heart of the one who is awake. There is no obstacle to its creation, then Allah makes these beliefs symbols for certain other matters which He will create later, or has created them before, just as Allah has created them. Clouds have been made a symbol of rain, similarly dreams have been made a symbol for certain facts.

 For example:

It is in Sahih Bukhari that seeing milk in a dream is a sign of knowledge and seeing clothes in a dream is a sign of piety. And in Tirmidhi, seeing a white dress in a dream is a sign of being in Paradise and seeing a black dress is a sign of being in Hell. استغفر اللہ ربی من کل ذنب

Dreams that bring happiness to a person cannot be entered by Shaitan, and dreams that cause harm are seen due to the intervention of Shaitan. It is true that the creator of everything is Allah Almighty, but every good thing should be attributed to Allah and every bad thing should be attributed to Shaitan, because Shaitan is the greatest enemy of man. It is the work of Shaitan to harm a person by causing him to do bad things.

Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ said:
"A good dream is from Allah and a bad dream is from Shaitan".

That is why bad dreams and nightmares are attributed to Shaitan.

According to Imam Abu Ishaq, the reality of the dream:

Qazi Abu Bakr bin al-Arabi has said that Imam Al-Ustaaz Abu Ishaq’s statement: means that dreams are perceptions that Allah creates in the heart of a servant through an angel or a devil. And those realizations are sometimes produced by means of clear signs and sometimes by means of metaphors and sometimes by means of gestures, just as in the state of awareness sometimes purposeful things come to the heart of a person and sometimes purposeless and unrelated things come to mind.

Types of dreams:

There are two types of dreams:
True dreams False dreams Types of Dreamers: There are three types of dreamers: The meaning of the Holy Hadith is that:

"The more truthful a person is, the more truthful his dream will be".

1:Therefore, the first type is that of the Prophets علیھم السلام, that all their dreams are true, but some dreams require an explanation.

2: The second rank is that of righteous people. Their dreams are mostly true and some of their dreams do not require interpretation.

3: The third category is that of common people:
Their dreams come true. And frightening and disturbing dreams, or dreams involving seeing images of your thoughts and desires. This third type has three more types:

 For example:

Dreams of Mastorian
Dreams of sinners
Dreams of unbelievers

Important instructions about dreams:
The first is that one should not share one’s dream in front of everyone. There is no harm in asking for the interpretation of a dream, as the following hadith proves that it is Sunnah to ask for the interpretation of a dream.

Hazrat Samurah bin Jundab narrates that when the Holy Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) finished the Fajr prayer, he would turn to the people and say, “Has anyone seen a dream last night?”

Whoever had a dream would describe his dream to the Holy Prophet and ask for its interpretation.

But ask the interpretation of the dream only from the person who is expert in interpreting the dream. That is, ask the interpretation of a dream from a religious, pious and pious person.(That is, A good Scholar)

Since bad dreams are caused by Shaitan, bad dreams should not be explained to anyone. What to do if you have a bad dream or a nightmare:
 The Holy Hadith means that
“if you have a bad dream, spit three times on your left side”.

If you have a bad dream or a nightmare, recite this dua:
اَعُو٘ذُ بِاللّٰہِ مِنَ الشَّی٘طٰنِ الرَّجِی٘مِ وَمِن٘ شَرِّ ھٰذِہِ الرُّء٘یَا۔

(sharah Sahi Muslim by Allamah Ghulam Rasool)
