The importance of islam and the favorite religion of allah:

Translation:

"Undoubtedly in the sight of Allah, Islam the only Religion. And the People of the Book who disagreed with each other despite having knowledge, that disagreement was due to enmity with each other, and whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah, surely Allah is quick to take account.

And (O Beloved!) if they still dispute with you, then say that I and whoever follows me have accepted Islam for the sake of Allah.

And you say to the People of the Book and the uneducated people, have you accepted Islam? Then if they accept Islam, then they have been guided. And if they turn away, then your responsibility is only to convey religion. And Allah is the best watcher of the servants." ( Surah Al-E-Imran ayat: 20-21)

اِنَّ الدِّیْنَ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ الْاِسْلَامُ۫

 Commentary:

Literal and Terminological Meaning of Islam:

In the term of Sharia, Islam means confirming and obeying the news and commandments brought by the Prophet ﷺ. And this is the terminological meaning of faith, and from this point of view, faith and Islam are the same, but there is a difference between them in terms of vocabulary. The literal meaning of faith is to believe in something without fear. By believing in Allah and His Messenger, man saves himself from the eternal punishment of Hellfire, and Islam literally means to obey, to enter into peace and sincerity.

When a person accepts Islam, he obeys Allah Almighty and His Messenger, his life and property are safe in this world, and he is safe from punishment in the Hereafter, and the more mature a person is, the more Muslim he is. There is so much sincerity in religion. In summary, the beliefs and principles that have been common in the teachings of all the Prophets (peace be upon them) are called religion.

Allah Almighty said:

(And the People of the Book who disagreed with each other despite having knowledge, that disagreement was due to enmity with each other, and whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah, surely Allah is quick to take account.)

Statement of Disagreement of the People of the Book:

In determining the evidence of the disagreement of the People of the Book mentioned in this verse, there are the following sayings:

1 - It refers to the Jews and their disagreement is that when the death of Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) was near, he entrusted the Torah to seventy scholars. And made them Amen to the Torah, and appointed Hazrat Yushua (peace be upon him) as Caliph. Then, after many ages, the descendants of these seventy scholars, despite having knowledge of the Torah, disagreed with each other due to mutual jealousy and enmity.

2 - This refers to the Christians because despite the teachings of the Gospel, they disagreed about Jesus and called him Ibn Allah instead of Abdullah.

3 - It refers to the Jews and the Christians and their disagreement was that the Jews said that Uzira was the son of Allah and the Christians said that the Jesus (Hazrat Isa) was the son of Allah. And both of them denied the prophethood of Sayyidna Muhammad (peace be upon him). And they said,

“We are more entitled to prophethood than the Quraish of Makkah, because they are uneducated people and we are people of the book, despite the fact that knowledge about the confirmation of Sayyidna Muhammad ﷺ had come to them.” His books contained attributes, signs and prophecies about Prophet Muhammad. Such verses were being revealed in the Holy Quran which were supported and confirmed in his books. And such miracles were appearing from the Prophet ﷺ that showed the truth of his claim of prophethood. Allah Almighty is aware of their disbelief and all their bad deeds, He has let them loose with His wisdom, He will soon take account of them and punish them for their crimes.

Allah Almighty said:

(And (O Beloved!) if they still dispute with you, then say that I and whoever follows me have accepted Islam for the sake of Allah.)

This verse is about all the opponents of the religion of Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ whether they are Jews or Christians. Be a magician or an idolater. In the verse preceding this verse, it was said that the People of the Book disagreed with the prophethood of Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ in spite of coming to knowledge and insisted on their disbelief.

Now in this verse, Allah Almighty has said that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) should say in answer to them that I have bowed my head in the presence of Allah. That is, I am a Muslim. Because before that the Prophet ﷺ had shown miracles for the truthfulness of his prophethood, the trees moved at his call. Deer talked to you. Lizard or Iguana recited the word of martyrdom. The stones used to greet you, the moon and the sun were under your control. Also, in the verses that have been mentioned before, there was a statement about the truth of your religion.

When Allah Almighty said Al-Hay al-Qayyum about himself, the claim of the Christians that Jesus is God or the son of God became invalid because God is the one who lives forever and ever, Jesus was not first and then born. And according to the Christian faith they were crucified and died.

Allah Almighty said:

(And you say to the People of the Book and the uneducated people, have you accepted Islam? Then if they accept Islam, then they have been guided. And if they turn away, then your responsibility is only to convey religion. And Allah is the best watcher of the servants.)

Because Allah Ta’ala has ordered the Prophet ﷺ to address the uneducated people in this verse. That is why we wrote that in this verse Allah has said this to all the disbelievers:

 Have you accepted Islam?

Allah did not say, O Muhammad, tell them that you should accept Islam. Rather, instead of using the form of command, he addressed the unbelievers with the form of intercession.

The clue in speaking like this is:

The one to whom Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ gave this message of Islam is very stubborn and obstinate and he is not just. Because when something is proved to a just person, he does not hesitate and accepts it immediately.
