Wazifa for Children, A Tried and Tested Practice for Having a Son.

The Incident of Imam Hasan and a Servant:

Once, Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) went to Hazrat Amir Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him). One of Hazrat Amir Muawiya's servants said to him:

"I am a wealthy man. Allah has given me a lot of wealth, but I do not have any children. Please tell me something through which Allah Almighty may bless me with the blessing of children."

Hazrat Sayyiduna Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) told him: "Recite Istighfar."

Following this advice of Hazrat Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), the man made Istighfar his regular Wazifa. He began to recite Istighfar seven hundred (700) times every day.

Through the blessing of this practice, Allah Almighty blessed this man with ten sons. In one narration, seven (7) sons are mentioned.

Hazrat Amir Muawiya's Question:

When Hazrat Amir Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him) came to know about this, he said to his servant:

"Why did you not ask Hazrat Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) where he had learned this practice?"

The second time, when this man had the honor of meeting and seeing Hazrat Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), he asked:

"Sir, where did you learn this Wazifa of Istighfar?"

Hazrat Sayyiduna Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

"Have you not heard the saying of Allah's Prophet, Hazrat Sayyiduna Hud (peace be upon him), who said to his people:

وَ یٰقَوْمِ اسْتَغْفِرُوْا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوْبُوْۤا اِلَیْهِ یُرْسِلِ السَّمَآءَ عَلَیْكُمْ مِّدْرَارًا وَّ یَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً اِلٰى قُوَّتِكُمْ وَ لَا تَتَوَلَّوْا مُجْرِمِیْنَ۔ (Surah Hud: 52)

Translation:

"O my people! Ask your Lord for forgiveness, then turn to Him. He will send abundant rain upon you and will increase your strength with more strength. And do not turn away while committing sins."

And have you not heard the saying of Hazrat Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him):

وَیُمْدِدْكُمْ بِاَمْوَالٍ وَّ بَنِیْنَ وَ یَجْعَلْ لَّكُمْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّ یَجْعَلْ لَّكُمْ اَنْهٰرًاؕ۔ (Tafsir Madarik)

The meaning is that Hazrat Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) said to his people:

فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوْا رَبَّكُمْؕ-اِنَّهٗ كَانَ غَفَّارًاۙ() یُّرْسِلِ السَّمَآءَ عَلَیْكُمْ مِّدْرَارًاۙ () وَّ یُمْدِدْكُمْ بِاَمْوَالٍ وَّ بَنِیْنَ وَ یَجْعَلْ لَّكُمْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّ یَجْعَلْ لَّكُمْ اَنْهٰرًاؕ () (Surah Nuh: 10–12)

Translation:

"So I said: Ask your Lord for forgiveness. Surely, He is Most Forgiving. He will send abundant rain upon you. And He will help you with wealth and sons, and He will make gardens for you and make rivers for you."

In the same way, Hazrat Sayyiduna Hud (peace be upon him) also advised his people to seek forgiveness.

Benefits of Istighfar:

Therefore, this verse points to the fact that when forgiveness is sought from Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty also forgives. If there is a need for rain, He will also provide abundant rain. And He will help you by giving wealth and sons.

Note:

This verse especially mentions sons. If a person sincerely seeks forgiveness from Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty will surely bless him.
