A Powerful Supplication for the Protection of Your Home and Wealth
Hazrat Khawaja Gharib Nawaz (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi seven times before going to sleep at night and blows toward the four corners of the house, an iron-like protective barrier will be placed around the house. It will remain protected from thieves, wild animals, and harmful creatures.

Virtues of Ayat al-Kursi
Which Is the Greatest Verse of the Qur'an?
Hafiz Al-Suyuti narrates that Imam Ahmad, Imam Muslim, Imam Abu Dawood, and Imam Al-Hakim reported from Hazrat Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him as a test:
"Which verse of the Book of Allah is the greatest?"
He replied, "Ayat al-Kursi."
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Abu Al-Mundhir, may this knowledge be a blessing for you."
Another Hadith:
Imam Al-Bukhari mentioned in his history, and Imam Al-Tabarani and Imam Abu Nu'aym narrated through authentic chains from Hazrat Ibn Al-Asqa' Al-Bakari (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"Which verse of the Holy Qur'an is the greatest?"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied:
"Allah! There is no god except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer."
Then he recited the complete Ayat al-Kursi.
The Narration of Hazrat Anas:
Imam Al-Bayhaqi narrated in Shu'ab al-Iman from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, Allah Almighty keeps him under His protection until the next prayer. Only a Prophet, a Siddiq, or a martyr continues to recite Ayat al-Kursi regularly."
Only Death Prevents Entry into Paradise:
Imam Al-Bayhaqi narrated in Shu'ab al-Iman that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi after every prayer, nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise except death. As soon as he dies, he will enter Paradise."
The Story of Hazrat Abu Hurairah and the Thief:
Imam Al-Bukhari, Imam Al-Nasa'i, and Imam Abu Nu'aym (may Allah have mercy on them) narrated that Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed me to guard the Zakat.
One night, a man came and started taking some grain. I caught him and said, "I will surely take you to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
He replied, "Please let me go. I am poor, I have a family, and I am in great need."
Hazrat Abu Hurairah said that I let him go.
The next morning, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked:
"O Abu Hurairah! What happened to your prisoner last night?"
I replied, "O Messenger of Allah! He told me about his poverty and great need, so I felt sorry for him and let him go."
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"He has lied, and he will come back."
I became certain that he would return. The next night, I waited for him. He came again and started taking some grain. I caught him and said, "I will surely take you to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
He said, "Please let me go. I am poor and have a family. I will never come back again."
I felt sorry for him and let him go.
The next morning, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked:
"What happened to your prisoner last night?"
I replied, "O Messenger of Allah! He explained his poverty and family needs, so I felt sorry for him and let him go."
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"He has lied, and he will return again."
On the third night, I waited for him once more. He came again and started collecting grain. I caught him and said:
"This is the last time. Today I will surely take you to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Every time you promise not to return, but you come back again."
He said:
"Let me go, and I will teach you some words that will benefit you."
I asked, "What are they?"
He said:
"When you go to bed, recite Ayat al-Kursi. Allah will continue to protect you until morning, and no devil will come near you until dawn."
The next morning, Hazrat Abu Hurairah informed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about what had happened.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"He is a liar, but this time he has spoken the truth."
The Benefit of Reciting Ayat al-Kursi Before Sleeping:
Imam Ibn Al-Durays narrated from Hazrat Qatadah that whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi before going to sleep will be protected by two angels until morning.
